Sydney Bar Week ticket giveaway - two weeks to go

For the first time ever, Sydney Bar Week - the hallowed booze fest previously only open to bartenders and the drinks industry - is opening up to the general drinking public and it's set to be the biggest cocktail event in Australia.

I love how they've described the event as for the professional and the passionate:

Professional: The talented, unsung heroes behind the bar who want to keep up-to-date on new trends, new brands and re-visit the old classics while learning a new thing or two.

Passionate: Drinks enthusiasts who, although stand on the other side of the bar, appreciate the drinks industry and want to taste new products and learn more about the bar trade.

There are plenty of side events but the main show is Drinks Fest. It will be hosted at the Overseas Passenger Terminal at Circular Quay over two sessions (11am-3pm or 3.30pm-7.30pm) for the passionate public on Sunday, 23 September while the professional trade-only event happens on Monday, 24 September.

  4. Tina, I'm going to sound INCREDIBLY cheap saying this... but I am going to go right ahead and say it. But the most important attribute of a good cocktail bar is having hot and nasty bar staff serving them to you!!!

  5. Sir D would love this event, if only to build on his ever-growing alcohol collection at home lol. I think the most important attribute of a good cocktail bar is having bartenders who know their stuff and can make something new and interesting for people to try!
